Medically known as enuresis, it means uncontrolled urinary incontinence after a certain age.<\/p><p>In this article, you can find answers to frequently asked questions such as at what age it is considered normal, when treatment is required, and what types there are.<\/p><h2>\ud83d\udccc What is Bedwetting?<\/h2><p>Enuresis is the involuntary leakage of urine at an age when the child is expected to have gained urinary control. Generally:<\/p><p>\u2022 Daytime bedwetting (diurnal enuresis)<\/p><p>\u2022 It is classified as bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis).<\/p><p>\u23f3 Limits considered normal according to age:<\/p><p>\u2022 Daytime urinary control is usually achieved until the age of 4<\/p><p>\u2022 Night urinary control is gained until the age of 5<\/p><p>\u2022 Bedwetting that continues after the age of 5 may be pathological.<\/p><h3>\ud83d\udd0d Types of Enuresis:<\/h3><h3>\ud83e\uddea Why Could It Be?<\/h3><h3>There may be many different reasons behind bedwetting:<\/h3><h2>1. Developmental delay<\/h2><p>Urinary bladder control may not be mature yet.<\/p><h2>2. Genetic factors<\/h2><p>The risk increases if one of the parents had enuresis in childhood.<\/p><h2>3. Hormonal imbalances<\/h2><p>There may be a deficiency of the ADH hormone, which reduces urine production at night.<\/p><h2>4. Deep sleep<\/h2><p>Some children cannot recognize the signal to urinate during sleep.<\/p><h2>5. Stress and psychological factors<\/h2><p>Situations such as the birth of a sibling, divorce, or school change may affect it.<\/p><h2>6.
